Asshole Of The Year

Part two is here.
.
This year's Asshole award goes to Rand Paul, a Kentucky ophthalmologist running for the Senate.

Paul gets most of his ideas from Ayn Rand, a Jewish author from Russia who changed her name from Rosenbaum. Having a Jewish name was not a good idea, considering the crowd she liked to hang with. Rand Paul and his father (Dr.)Ron Paul, hang with ardent supporters Don Black and Derek Black, who are the nation's neo-Nazi/KKK ringleaders.
Don Black received a three-year prison sentence for his role in Operation Red Dog - a plan by mercenaries to overthrow the government of Dominica, and set up a criminal enterprise.

Rand Paul got his start in politics with his keynote address to the Constitution Party, which wants to replace the Constitution with biblical law, among other Eighth Century beliefs, like stoning. This is nothing new: John Anderson, an Illinois Congressman, actually introduced a Constitutional amendment which would "recognize the law and authority of Jesus Christ" over the United States. Page One is now reporting that Rand Paul's campaign is anti-Semitic.

Rand Paul is most famous for his defense of Jim Crow. When asked by Rachel Maddow if a private business had the right to refuse service to black people, Rand Paul replied "yes." Here are more gems from Rand Paul's mouth:

-"The Civil Rights and Americans With Disability Acts might not have been necessary..."
-"We could clean up the environment by suing our neighbors in court."
-"The Sun causes global warming."
-"Each state should make its own guns." That way, firearms could not be regulated by the Commerce Clause.
-"If college students attended class armed with guns, it would deter campus violence."
-"President Obama has apologized for both America's greatness and the Industrial Revolution."
-"Massachusetts' universal health care law has been a disaster," and is somehow related to Octomom Nadya Suleman.
-"Recruiting high school students for military service is like Nazi Germany."
-"Death panels are real."
-"If the national debt gets bad enough, the American people could end up voting a person like Adolf Hitler into office."

Rand Paul made the same racial comments in 2002: "A free society will abide...discrimination - even when that means allowing hate filled groups to exclude people based on the color of their skin." He made the same statements to the Courier-Journal: "In a free society, we will tolerate boorish people who have abhorrent behavior." Paul wrote to the Bowling Green Daily News, complaining that the federal fair housing law ignores "the distinction between private and public property." Paul continued, "decisions concerning private property and associations should in a free society be unhindered. As a consequence, some associations will discriminate."

Here's a black woman attempting to integrate a lunch counter, and the boorish behavior of throwing food at her being tolerated:

Perhaps Rand Paul regards the KKK's murder of three civil rights workers in Philadelphia, Mississippi merely boorish behavior. Ronald Reagan announced his first presidential campaign in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Wink, wink.

In that Courier-Journal article, Colmon Elridge - a black man - said, "I call on Mr. Paul to answer the question of whether or not my wife and I should have the right to eat at any establishment in our great commonwealth or this great nation, free of racial discrimination."

Dr. Paul was asked by the paper, "under your philosophy, it would be okay for Dr. King to not be served at the counter at Woolworths?" Rand Paul evaded the question. Paul told the Courier-Journal, opposing the Civil Rights Act is "the hard part about believing in freedom."

Without qualification, the Right tolerates Rand Paul's civil rights stance, as his belief in dismantling the departments of Commerce, Education, and possibly Agriculture. Rand Paul has opposed anti-racial discrimination measures well before 2002, when he first started writing to newspapers.

Finally, the true face of the Republican Party and conservatives, is being shown to the public in all its glory. Thank you, Dr. Rand Paul. I made a career as a licensed optician, and I would not want either Dr. Paul, to come near me.
